Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Mixed Signal Electronics Engineer (Level 02) for tactical missile system development and production programs within our Advanced Weapons team located in Northridge, CA.
In this role, the Mixed Signal Electronics Engineer (Level 02) will serve as the key interface between hardware design and operations. Oversee testability and non-conformances of circuit card designs in a production environment. Work with suppliers on manufacturability and producibility of circuit card assemblies (CCA’s). Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, and hardware engineers in planning design and development of systems to ensure software and hardware performance and compatibility.
There is no remote work for this role and the selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Northridge, CA.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct component and system level testing and troubleshoot issues to ensure design reliability and maintainability
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, design reviews, and test plans throughout the product lifecycle
- Support the transition of hardware from development to production, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD and industry best practices
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software teams to develop and integrate mixed-signal circuit card assemblies for tactical missile systems
- Flow down and implements design test requirements into production test processes and procedures
Basic Qualifications for Electronics Engineer (Level 02):
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 2 years of directly related professional working experience or Master's degree in STEM field with 0 years of directly related professional working experience
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagram, interface control documents, power and grounding topologies
- Operation of common test equipment: oscilloscope, digital multi-meters, 3-phase/DC power supply
- Experience with root cause corrective action and failure analysis
- Ability to systematically work though de-bugging process with strong metric keeping skills.
- Active Secret Clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years
Preferred Qualifications for Electronics Engineer (Level 02):
- Proficiency of CAD tools, such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition or equivalent.
- Experience with MIL-STD compliant designs that meet reliability and maintainability requirements.
- Ability to own and drive design reviews throughout development process.
- Develop detailed test plans for prototypes and assist in transition to production. Experience in setting up test benches and equipment as needed to perform validation testing.
- Experience in mixed signal CCA’s (Circuit Card Assemblies) product design, development and system level integration
