Description
Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH), a long-established and highly respected healthcare provider and Federally Qualified Health Center with locations throughout Indian River County, FL is seeking a Float Pharmacy Technician to join our patient care team in delivering excellence in clinical care across our medical sites.
The Float Pharmacy Technician will be in assisting our licensed providers in distributing medication in TCCH's in-house pharmacy. Duties will include provision of documentation and labelling of all medications, ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies, implementing patient assistance programs, assisting with patient education, etc.
This position is a float role and will travel among TCCH locations based on daily staffing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Pharmacy:
- Assists in documentation and labeling of all medications.
- Orders all supplies and maintains inventory with documentation of all medications in stock.
- Monitors expiration dates and lot numbers for all medications and related supplies.
- Analyzes and compares pricing of in stock medication through TCCH distributors.
Patient Assistance Program:
- Maintains records and applications, including assisting in enrolling patients, obtaining appropriate documentation and facilitates receiving P.A.P. patient medication.
- Packages all received P.A.P. medication and records patient data related to this stock.
- Assists in educating patients on medication use, P.A.P. requirements and refill requests.
- Communicates with pharmaceutical companies to place refill orders or to check status on
P.A.P. applications enrollments. - Pharmaceutical Samples:
- Patient Medication Communication:
- Contacts patient to pick up medication and ensures the provider a record in the medical chart of all distributed medication, indicating in stock or samples.
- Maintains patient Drug Educational hand outs for distribution to the patients by the medical providers.
Education and/or Experience
Registered Florida Pharmacy Technician Certificate and CPR is required.
Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are strongly preferred.
