Are you an experienced dental front-office professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you have strong knowledge of specialty scheduling, dental insurance, and patient coordination?
Wave Dental Specialists is a busy, growing multi-specialty dental practice in Dearborn Heights, MI. We are looking for a confident, organized, and patient-focused Patient Coordinator to join our team and help create an exceptional experience from the moment patients walk through our doors.

What You’ll Do
- Welcome patients and provide a warm, professional experience at check-in and check-out
- Coordinate appointments and treatment schedules across multiple specialties, including Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontics, and more
- Manage referrals and coordinate care between referring offices, specialists, and patients
- Verify dental insurance benefits and assist with pre-authorizations and treatment estimates
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims and outstanding balances
- Collect patient payments accurately and professionally
- Maintain accurate patient records, insurance information, and appointment documentation
- Communicate closely with clinical teams to ensure schedules stay organized and efficient
- Help patients navigate their specialty treatment experience from referral through completion
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of dental front-office experience required
- Multi-specialty or specialty dental experience required
- Strong understanding of dental insurance, verification, billing, and claims
- Experience with PPO and Medicaid insurance is a plus
- Open Dental experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
- Professional, dependable, and positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team

Requirements
Education and Training
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent of combination of education and experience.
FLSA Status: Hourly
Reports to: Operations Manager.
