About Our Client

Our client is an established building performance and compliance specialist delivering BER, sustainability and building energy performance services across residential and commercial projects in Ireland.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced BER / Sustainability Department Manager to lead and develop their growing Sustainability team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of Domestic and Non Domestic BER services, manage the department's workload and team, maintain high technical and quality standards, and support the continued growth of the Sustainability services.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day to day operations of the BER / Sustainability Department
• Lead, support and develop BER Assessors and Sustainability team members
• Plan workloads, allocate projects and ensure deadlines are achieved
• Oversee Domestic and Non Domestic BER assessments and associated reporting
• Review technical work to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance with SEAI requirements and Building Regulations
• Provide technical guidance and support on complex projects
• Oversee work relating to Part L compliance, U value calculations, condensation risk and building energy performance
• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, engineers and design teams
• Support the training and development of new and existing employees
• Monitor department performance, project delivery and quality standards
• Support recruitment and resource planning as the department grows
• Identify opportunities to develop and expand Sustainability services
• Work closely with Operations, Sales and wider Building Performance teams

Essential Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Building Services, Sustainability or a related discipline
• Strong experience within BER, sustainability or building energy performance
• Excellent knowledge of SEAI requirements, Part L and building energy compliance
• Strong technical, leadership and people management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, workloads and deadlines
• Excellent client communication and problem solving skills
• Strong IT and technical reporting skills
• Full clean driving licence

Desirable

• Registered Domestic and/or Non Domestic BER Assessor
• Previous experience managing or supervising a technical team
• Experience across both residential and commercial developments
• Knowledge of Part F, NZEB and wider sustainability and building performance services
• Experience training and mentoring junior team members
