Lending Operations Manager

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lending Operations Manager to join our Commercial Banking Operations team within Global Operations. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a high-performing team responsible for critical collateral risk management activities that help protect the bank, support commercial clients, and drive operational excellence. As a leader in this role, you will oversee insurance monitoring and risk review operations, ensuring collateral records remain accurate, compliant, and aligned with regulatory and policy requirements. Your team will identify and resolve complex coverage issues while partnering across the organization to support sound lending practices and effective risk management. This position offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, complex collateral structures, and key business partners across Wells Fargo. You'll have the opportunity to influence strategy, improve processes, and lead initiatives that enhance operational performance and client outcomes. In this role, you will:

• Lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for critical commercial lending, collateral management, and insurance monitoring activities.
• Drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements, enhancing controls, and improving client and partner experiences.
• Partner with stakeholders across Commercial Banking, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to deliver business objectives and support strategic priorities.
• Oversee adherence to regulatory requirements, investor standards, and internal risk management policies while maintaining a strong control environment.
• Lead the implementation of business initiatives, system enhancements, and policy changes that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide leadership in resolving complex operational, risk, and credit-related matters while balancing business goals and sound risk management practices.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members while building a strong pipeline of future leaders through talent development and recruitment.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Transactions and Processing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 2+ years of Leadership experience

• Proven ability to identify risk exposures, evaluate complex situations, and implement effective solutions that balance risk management with business objectives.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and talent development.
• Strong ability to build partnerships and influence stakeholders across Operations, Risk, Compliance, and other business functions.
• Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively manage complex operational and risk-related issues.
• Demonstrated success driving process improvements, strengthening controls, and implementing operational efficiencies that enhance quality and reduce risk.
• Ability to navigate multiple systems, applications, and reporting tools to analyze information, identify trends, and support informed business decisions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Experience using data, metrics, and reporting to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and drive operational improvements.
• Proven ability to lead through change, champion continuous improvement, and execute strategic initiatives.
• Strong conflict resolution, relationship management, and collaboration skills with a focus on delivering positive customer and business outcomes.
• Insurance experience preferred but not required.

Job Expectations:

• Ability to work in office at posted location for a minimum of three days per week.
