Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Python Developer to design, build, and optimize ETL pipelines that move and transform data across enterprise systems. You will work with modern data platforms, collaborate closely with business stakeholders, and champion best practices in code quality, testing, and DevOps.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Design and develop robust ETL pipelines in Python to extract, transform, and load data across source and target systems
- Optimize and maintain existing Extract-Transform-Load pipelines, ensuring performance and reliability at scale
- Develop, tune, and optimize data models, queries, and stored procedures across relational databases (DB2, PostgreSQL)
- Implement comprehensive data validation, cleansing, error handling, rollback mechanisms, and audit-logging
- Partner directly with business users and data analysts to gather requirements, clarify data mappings, and ensure alignment
- Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot failures, and implement improvements to operational stability and observability
- Contribute to instrumentation, logging, and monitoring enhancements to support production reliability
- Follow modern DevOps practices, write unit tests, enforce code-quality gates, and maintain clear technical documentation
Requirements
- 6–9 years of professional software development experience, with strong expertise in Python
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing ETL pipelines and data integration solutions
- Proficiency in SQL optimization, data modeling, and working with relational databases (DB2, PostgreSQL)
- Solid understanding of version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps principles
- Strong data validation, error handling, and data cleansing practices in production environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams
- Commitment to code quality, testing standards, and maintaining clear documentation
