Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic DBaaS Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and automating our self-service DBaaS portal. You will create seamless, automated experiences for our internal clients to provision, manage, and monitor their databases across a hybrid cloud environment. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies at a massive scale and make a significant impact on how Citi manages its data infrastructure.
## Key Responsibilities:
- Full Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain the front-end and back-end components of the DBaaS self-service portal using technologies like AngularJS, Java, and Python.
- Cloud Automation: Develop robust automation workflows for provisioning and managing databases on public cloud platforms, specifically AWS (e.g., RDS, Aurora) and GCP (e.g., Cloud SQL, Spanner).
- API Integration: Build and consume RESTful APIs to integrate the portal with various infrastructure services, including cloud providers, internal configuration management databases (CMDB), and monitoring systems.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate testing and deployment of the portal and its associated services.
- User Experience: Collaborate with product managers and end-users to create an intuitive and efficient user experience for the DBaaS portal.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize IaC principles and tools (like Terraform or Ansible) to define and manage cloud resources in a repeatable and automated fashion.
- Operational Excellence: Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the entire stack, from the front-end UI to the back-end automation logic and cloud infrastructure.
## Required Qualifications:
- 7+yrs of relevant experience desired
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Full Stack Experience: 7 years of hands-on experience in full-stack development.
- Programming Languages:
- Strong proficiency in Java for back-end services.
- Strong proficiency in Python for automation scripting and API development.
- Solid experience with AngularJS or modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Vue.js) for front-end development.
- Cloud Platforms: Proven experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS or GCP). Demonstrable experience in automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Database Knowledge: Understanding of relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) and/or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, CockroachDB) databases.
- API Development: Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
## Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Cloud Skills: In-depth knowledge of AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM) and/or GCP services (Cloud SQL, GCE, GCS, Cloud Functions).
- Containerization: Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- CI/CD Tools: Proficiency with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar CI/CD tools.
- Financial Services Experience: Previous experience working in a large-scale enterprise environment, preferably in the financial sector.
- Security Mindset: Familiarity with enterprise security practices and secure coding standards.
