Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the Product Management teams to meet global targets and to plan, monitor, and develop a global product portfolio for strategic businesses. Each day, you will contribute to defining the business strategy, translate it along with market requirements into a competitive portfolio, and manage the associated portfolio planning, investment, and development activities. You will also showcase your expertise by defining a go-to-market model and segment strategy and aligning them with the operational/execution path.

This role is contributing to the Medium Voltage cable accessories ABB ELIP in EMEA & Asia. Main stakeholders are Installation Products Regional Leader, Portfolio Manager, Sales Manager, R&D Manager, and Operations Manager.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Leading Product Line Strategy: Define and execute the product line strategy and roadmap based on customer needs, market attractiveness and competitive positioning, aligned with ELIP EMEA strategy.
• Driving Market Intelligence and Customer-Centric Prioritization: Build a strong understanding of MV cable accessories markets, customer applications, utility requirements and qualification processes, routes to market, and competition. Identify and prioritize attractive markets, portfolio gaps and growth opportunities.
• Managing Product Lifecycle: Manage the offering from development and launch through maturity and phase-out. Drive portfolio rationalization as well as cost and pricing actions to strengthen competitiveness and profitability.
• Shaping Innovation & New Product Development: Translate customer and market needs into product requirements and business cases. Challenge the status quo, prioritize development opportunities, and partner with R&D to drive new product development with speed and clear business outcomes.
• Ensuring Successful New Product Launches: Develop launch plans with differentiated customer value propositions and clear positioning. Ensure operational readiness and partner with Market Development & regional Sales teams to execute tailored go-to-market plans in target countries.
• Driving Business Performance & Results: Monitor key product line KPIs including orders, sales, profitability, new product sales and portfolio vitality. Identify gaps vs. target and drive actions across functions to deliver business objectives.
• Contributing to Strategic Growth Initiatives: Evaluate strategic partnerships and potential M&A targets to strengthen the portfolio and accelerate growth.
• Enabling Cross-Functional Execution: Align Sales, Market Development, R&D, Operations, Marketing and Finance around common priorities, driving execution with speed and ownership.
• Leading & Developing Product Managers: Lead, coach and develop the Product Management team, strengthening capabilities, customer focus, and accountability.
• Ensuring Governance, Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure product line activities meet ABB policies and applicable regulatory, safety, integrity and sustainability requirements.

Qualifications for the role

• Product Management Experience: 7+ years of experience in Product Management, New Product Launches, Business Development or a related role within the electrification industry. Medium Voltage experience is required; experience in MV cable accessories and utility markets is highly valued.
• Strong Customer & Market Orientation: Proven ability to understand customer needs, applications, market dynamics and translate them into clear product priorities.
• Cross-Functional Leadership & Influencing: Proven ability to influence and align Sales, Marketing, R&D and Operations to drive results in an international organization.
• Analytical & Results-Oriented Mindset: Strong analytical capabilities and a data-driven approach to prioritization and decision making, with a strong drive for execution and results.
• Pragmatic, Open & Entrepreneurial Mindset: Proactive and solution-oriented, open to new ideas and perspectives, with the ability to take initiative, solve problems, and turn ideas into action.
• People Leadership: Ability to lead and develop people, strengthening capabilities and accountability.
• Education & International Exposure: bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Business or a related field. Experience working across countries and cultures is valued. Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
