Position Summary
Do you enjoy caring for others but want a little variety in your day? Franklin General Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Emergency Department Registration Specialist to join our team.
This unique position combines direct patient care with emergency department registration duties, providing the opportunity to make a difference in multiple ways. The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering a five-star experience to every patient and family member.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Provide basic nursing care under the direction of licensed nursing staff
- Support restorative care and promote patient comfort and independence
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and healing environment
- Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff
- Cross-train and assist with Emergency Department and Hospital patient registration
- Management of EMS call process
- Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information accurately
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional, compassionate manner
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues
- Follow all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
Qualifications
- Current Iowa Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Strong computer skills required
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
- Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Previous healthcare registration experience preferred but not required
