Geoscience Data Manager
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Geoscience Data Manager to join our team on a full-time basis for a one-year duration. This role is based in Libya and requires a Libyan national currently residing within the country. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the National Oil Corporation (NOC) by standardizing, validating, integrating, and governing subsurface and geophysical data across operating companies and platforms. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in geoscience and subsurface data management who is eager to drive corporate-level data governance initiatives.

Responsibilities
As the Geoscience Data Manager, you will:
- Standardize, validate, and integrate subsurface and geophysical datasets across multiple platforms, including DSG and OpenWorks.
- Govern data at a corporate level, ensuring adherence to data standards, and implementing master data management practices, as well as integrating data across subsidiaries.
- Manage seismic, well, and interpretation datasets to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Leverage tools such as GeoFrame, Petrel, and OpenWorks to unify diverse datasets and align workflows across platforms.
- Resolve spatial inconsistencies and validate Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS) across concessions.
- Design and execute data loading, quality control, migration, and integration workflows at scale to optimize data integrity.
- Oversee data security measures, implement access control, and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory confidentiality requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to develop corporate-level data governance documentation and reporting.
- Provide knowledgeable mentorship and training to internal teams, promoting knowledge transfer and capability building.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a Libyan national currently residing in Libya.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in subsurface data management or geoscience.
- A degree in Geoscience, Geophysics, Geology, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven expertise in managing subsurface and geophysical data, including seismic, well, and interpretation datasets.
- Advanced working knowledge of tools including GeoFrame, Petrel, and OpenWorks and experience managing data across multiple platforms and subsidiaries.
- Comprehensive understanding of Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS), including identification, validation, and transformation processes.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate-level data governance, such as data standards, master data management, and cross-company harmonization.
- Proven track record in data workflows, including data loading, QC, migration, and integration at scale.
- Strong understanding of data security, confidentiality, access control, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional communication, coordination, and documentation skills with the ability to develop corporate-level governance documentation.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Day-to-day
- Collaborate with NOC operating companies to assess and streamline data management methodologies.
- Leverage DSG, OpenWorks, GeoFrame, and Petrel to oversee data integration and governance processes.
- Conduct routine quality control checks, troubleshoot spatial inconsistencies, and resolve data issues as they arise.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with data security policies and provide corporate-level reports on data governance.
- Provide mentoring and knowledge-transfer sessions for internal staff to elevate organizational data management capabilities.
- Coordinate with multiple teams to ensure the seamless implementation of standardized data workflows, ensuring alignment with the organization's long-term strategic goals.
