JOB SUMMARY
The Production manager oversees the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of goods by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services to ensure the orders that can, ship on or before required ship date. Management of order and production flow to ensure maximum efficiency and quality. They ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and product. They manage and supervise teams of workers and deal with personnel issues such as recruitment, training, and discipline of staff. Managers may also assist their staff with daily routine tasks as necessary. SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
· Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
· Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling with data storage system.
· Collaborate with managers to facilitate maintenance of building facilities and grounds. Maintains physical condition of warehouse, equipment and vehicles by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement of cranes, forklifts, and transportation equipment.
· Oversees work environment to maintain a neat, clean, and safe work environment.
· Negotiating with vendors as necessary to meet warehouse and financial requirements.
· Continual effective communication with all internal and external clients.
· Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.
· Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
· Maintains warehouse staff results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
· Contributes team effort as needed or requested to meet department and or business objectives.
· Other duties as assigned by management.
· Regular and reliable on-site attendance is a condition of employment.
· Ensure the trucks are loaded, strapped, tarped, and ready to go by required time
· Meetings with staff to lay out priorities for the date and update on any items of note
· Manage Invex order lists; picking, CTL, CBF. Verify stock is available and print corresponding orders.
· Route orders and related documentation to the appropriate work center in the Warehouse. Keeping lists updated and current. Prioritize orders at shipping/receiving order front desk
· Serve as main conduit for all sales and administrative requests for the warehouse. Respond timely to all requests from internal and external stakeholders.
· Manage pickups, deliveries, and truck route adjustments as needed
· Assist with all orders as needed (including S275/QA/International) review, approval and shipment preparation.
· Coordinate order flow and order readiness with sawing/chamfering area management
· Ensure facility has adequate supplies to meet customer requirements
· Manage equipment PMs (trucks, cranes ,lifts) on a scheduled basis
· Ensure the daily transfer trucks are loaded and ready to go by appointed time.
· Manage an effective transition of workflow and workload from day to night shift through daily communication.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment
· Notify sales as needed to adjust orders

Requirements
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
· High school diploma or GED required with a minimum of 2 years of supervisor or management experience in a warehouse setting.
· Good team working skills – leadership and motivational skills.
· Managerial skills – Ability to plan and organize work schedules, prepare routine administrative paperwork.
· Interpersonal skills
· Verbal and written communication skills
· Logical reasoning –judgment, strong decision-making skills.
· Numerical skills – Good math skills (sort, check, count, measure and verify numbers).
EQUIPMENT, MACHINES AND SOFTWARE USED:
- Ability to operate a forklift, crane, and back saw. Accurately read calipers and measuring instruments determine inventory amounts and customer requirements. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment including safety shoes, gloves, and safety glasses when performing certain job duties. Operator a telephone, cell phone, photocopier, calculator, and computer to send/receive email messages, post information to computer software including an ERP System and Microsoft Outlook365 Suite.
MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS
· Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation. May be required to operate equipment in congested areas involving considerable variety of movement.
Physical Activities and Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, climb, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motion of hands and/or wrists.
· Ability to exert more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Work involves minimal exposure to unusual elements, such as temperature changes, outdoor exposure to weather conditions, fumes, odors, gases, mists, and/or smoke, oils and/or lubricating fluids. (SDS sheets on file and available for review).
- Work environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment and proximity to moving mechanical parts.
- Some administrative tasks may allow for some remote work may be available with approval.
