Reuters Bangalore is seeking a dynamic correspondent to join its fast-paced US-UK speed and reporting team. This role provides the opportunity to deliver real-time, high-impact news coverage across geographies and contribute to Reuters' mission of providing timely, accurate and impartial news to a global audience.

 

The successful candidate will support Reuters' strategic focus on speed and the adoption of AI technologies in journalism. Working as part of the US-UK speed and reporting team, the correspondent will collaborate across time zones to cover breaking news, produce market-moving alerts, and contribute to broader storytelling initiatives spanning the UK and US financial markets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor a wide range of news sources and identify breaking news developments relevant to Reuters clients.
  • Deliver fast, accurate and high-quality news alerts and updates for a global audience.
  • Contribute to broader news gathering and storytelling efforts across the US and UK markets.
  • Support the team's performance objectives for speed, accuracy and editorial quality.
  • Leverage Reuters' editorial and AI tools to enhance reporting workflows and productivity.
  • Stay abreast of developments in AI and actively support the adoption and integration of new technologies into daily reporting.
  • Collaborate effectively and in a timely manner across teams, time zones and shifts in a fast-paced news environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of journalism experience.
  • Proven ability to identify and publish alerts on breaking news quickly, accurately and objectively.
  • Experience using Reuters editorial tools, including Fastwire, PLX-AI, FactGenie and LEON.
  • Strong understanding of AI tools and their application in journalistic workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience covering UK and/or US companies and financial markets.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI developments and their application to news gathering and reporting.
