About the Role
This position is for an FPGA Design Engineer with 5 or more years of development experience. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a strong desire to succeed/excel, whose primary responsibility is designing and developing FPGAs for use in audio and video products. As an Engineer the candidate is expected to take a leading role in design decisions and development. Other responsibilities include some PCB board level electrical design and testing, contributing to functional product specifications and working closely in a team environment. This individual should have a strong, positive attitude and the ability to easily multitask and provide advice/support to other engineers as well as technical support personnel. They should possess strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
What You Will Do
Design and develop FPGAs for audio and video products.
Lead design and architecture decisions by acting as a subject matter expert for targeted technologies.
Manage assigned tasks and schedules.
Follow engineering standards and procedures for FPGA development.
Work with a team of engineers to bring products to the AV industry.
Support others within the company as needed.
Maintain and support existing products.
What You Need to Be Successful
A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of Verilog HDL programming experience required.
Experience with both Altera and AMD (Xilinx) FPGA device families.
Familiarity with using FPGA High Speed SERDES features and DDR3/DDR4 memory interfaces.
Experience with using FPGA devices with embedded processors like Xilinx Zynq SoC and Altera SoC devices.
Ability to testbench and simulate RTL code. Questa Simulator a bonus.
Bonus Points if You Have
Knowledge of script driven FPGA build processes.
Experience in Schematic Capture and Printed Circuit Board Design.
Ability to operate in a Linux environment.
Experience in Audio/Video or AVB over ethernet networks.

Willingness to work in a full time office environment in Richardson, TX
