Description

Reporting to the Team Lead, Video Communications, as the Video Communications Editor you are responsible for working with Creative Services, the Communications team, business leaders and stakeholders to execute photo and video communication objectives.
In this role you will capture photo and video content in line with brand standards and safety guidelines. Content creation will be distributed to both internal and external audiences, including social media. Engaging b-roll footage, setting up appropriate lighting, and recording interviews on multi-camera sets with best audio practices will be required.

As the Video Communications Editor you will support post-production activities such as editing, sound design, visual effects, mastering and archiving. Assistance with pre-production activities may be required at times, including project coordination, interviewee preparation, scripting, and storyboarding.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of photo and video communication initiatives through post-production, including editing, music selection, sound design, text, animation, photo selection, final delivery, archiving, and performance metrics
  • Apply a structured planning and project management approach to define communication objectives, deliverables, timelines, and desired outcomes, ensuring projects are completed effectively and on schedule
  • Plan and record video projects aligned with business and corporate communication objectives, adapting content and storytelling to meet the needs of diverse audiences and communication channels
  • Travel to various work sites, offices, and locations as required to capture high-quality photo and video content during key business activities, milestones, events, and project developments
  • Capture, curate, and produce engaging video and photographic content that supports business and communications priorities across internal, external, digital, and social media channels
  • Collaborate with communications teams, business stakeholders, and project partners to understand content requirements, ensure alignment with organizational messaging, and deliver compelling visual content that achieves communication objectives

Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Video or Film Production, Project Management, Communications, Marketing or Business Administration is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of video editing experience required
  • Experienced in DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Experience with photography or video recording
  • Proficiency in video recording, editing, sound design, colour grading, video formats and compression codecs
  • Self-directed, admired for planning, organizational and detail-oriented skillset, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong writer and demonstrated ability to deliver professional, engaging, and impactful messages through video
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Easily builds relationships both in person and remotely
  • Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve, and an aptitude for learning new applications
  • A true team player: Collaborates, works well within team projects, and can lead a project to successful completion
  • Customer-focused: Models integrity, respect, sincerity, diplomacy, warmth, empathy, and optimism

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid role, working from home and attending the office as business needs require
  • 15%-20% travel required to various office locations required

Compensation

$60,000-$70,000

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
