Job Summary:
The Practice Manager provides on-site leadership and is directly responsible for the overall clinical and business operations of one or more assigned Wellstar Medical Group locations. In partnership with physicians, advanced practice professionals, nursing leaders, Site Leads (if applicable) and regional operations leadership, this role plans, supervises, and coordinates daily practice activities to promote safe, high-quality, patient centered care. The Practice Manager implements Wellstar standards of timely access, patient and team member experience, regulatory compliance, financial and operational performance, and ensures that location-level priorities align with Wellstar Medical Group goals.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Practice Operations Manages daily clinical and business operations for assigned locations, including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, registration, and clinical support. Maintains visible on-site leadership and serves as a primary resource for providers and team members, including support for cross-training and coverage needs. Supports provider onboarding, service expansion, and other operational transitions as assigned. Monitors patient experience calls, scores, and related reports to identify opportunities for service improvement. Uses technology and communication systems effectively to support practice operations and meet daily business needs. Human Resource Management Applies Wellstar Health System human resource policies and procedures consistently and in accordance with organizational standards. Partners with physicians, advanced practice professionals, and nursing leaders to support effective hiring, onboarding, supervision, and staff management. Leads employee engagement, performance management, and evaluation processes to promote team member development, accountability, and retention. Ensures team members complete required education, competencies, certifications, and training to maintain role readiness and compliance. Leadership and Professional Responsibility Builds relationships based on mutual respect and trust with providers, leaders, and team members. Collaborates with physician leaders, the Regional Operations Manager, and the Regional RN Manager to optimize and strengthen business operations. Sets clear expectations, monitors performance, and provides timely, constructive feedback to leaders and staff. Pursues networking, professional development, and learning opportunities to strengthen practice management knowledge and leadership effectiveness. Actively participates in organizational initiatives, continuing education, and community engagement activities. Demonstrates professionalism in appearance, communication, conduct, and leadership presence. Communicates effectively with providers, managers, and staff to support alignment, collaboration, and accountability. Financial Resource Management Supports the financial performance and viability of assigned Wellstar Medical Group practices by monitoring budgets, expenses, revenue cycle performance, staffing, productivity, patient volume, and access. * Monitors performance against operating budgets and identifies variances or trends requiring follow-up. * Plans, reviews, and prioritizes operational and capital expense needs for the practice. * Reviews business office performance, whether centralized or local, to support timely and accurate financial processes. * Develops and maintains operating budgets at the practice level. Administers accounting processes, financial controls, accounts receivable oversight, and budget management in accordance with organizational standards. Aligns staffing levels, productivity expectations, patient volume, and access strategies to support operational and financial goals. Customer Service and Quality Metrics Supports and models Wellstar Medical Group patient experience standards and practice-level quality metrics designed to promote service excellence and high quality care. Reviews patient experience calls and reports for providers and staff, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement as needed. Assesses customer service performance on an ongoing basis and identifies opportunities to improve team effectiveness and the patient experience. Compliance and Risk Management Supports and applies a working knowledge of WellStar Health Systems Standard and Departmental Policies and Procedures. Upholds all applicable regulatory agency guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.Required Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma / GED General or Bachelors General

Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 3 years Healthcare management experience, preferably in an ambulatory practice setting. Will accept an Associates degree with 5 years of healthcare management or 7 years of healthcare management experience in lieu of a bachelors degree Required or Incumbents in the Practice Manager role as of August 16, 2026 will not be required to meet the minimum education and experience requirements.Required Minimum Skills:

Practice Operations and Systems: Applies working knowledge of ambulatory practice operations, registration, insurance verification, EMR navigation, scheduling systems, human resources processes, and related healthcare information systems. Data Analysis and Planning: Collects, analyzes, and applies relevant data to support short- and long-term practice goals, operational planning, performance improvement, and budget needs. Leadership and Staff Development: Works independently while motivating, developing, and supporting staff performance, accountability, and engagement. Service Improvement and Revenue Growth: Proactively identifies, recommends, and supports opportunities to improve practice services, enhance patient access, and strengthen revenue performance.
