What you'll do...
Role summary:The Senior Technician, Facility Services, Food Equipment, is responsible for maintaining and repairing food service equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency. This role involves performing routine inspections, diagnosing issues, and executing both minor and major repairs while adhering to established maintenance schedules and regulatory standards. The position includes overseeing less-experienced associates, managing parts inventory, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining accurate documentation. The technician supports continuous improvement efforts, ensures compliance with safety regulations, and contributes to the overall reliability and functionality of facility equipment within the organization.
About the team:
The Facility Services team ensures the safety, functionality, and efficiency of equipment and facilities through expert maintenance and repairs. Utilizing skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC/R systems, the team manages work orders, coordinates contractors, and maintains regulatory compliance. Members lead preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, and support continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and providing hands-on training. Operating with professionalism and integrity, the team delivers reliable facility services that uphold company standards and contribute to a safe, well-maintained environment across multiple locations.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on food equipment to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with regulations.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment using blueprints, manuals, and multiple craft skills including plumbing and electrical.
- Manage parts inventory, order supplies, and track expenses to support maintenance activities efficiently.
- Lead and train less-experienced technicians through hands-on instruction and safety training sessions.
- Coordinate with contractors, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and contract standards.
- Participate in on-call rotation to address urgent maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance work, budgets, and compliance records.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience performing maintenance, inspection, and repair of food equipment and related facility systems.
- Proficiency in multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment operation.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and company safety regulations with a commitment to compliance.
- Experience managing work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor coordination.
- Capability to train and mentor less-experienced technicians through hands-on instruction.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 6 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
