12-Month Fixed Term Contract - September 2026 - September 2027
The Technical Compliance Engineer will maintain and enhance the site infrastructure and overall operations through provision of engineering skills, and the effective delivery of maintenance programs and support of project management.
The incumbent will provide oversight and support to engineering service partners to enable effective delivery of services to WPS, and ensure the safety and compliance (GMP, Environmental, Safety) of the site utilities, facilities and soft services.

- Support engineering related capital projects on site ensuring compliance with engineering procedures and site infrastructure strategy.
- Monitor and investigate service partners contract service levels (KPIs) and escalate remediation activities as required.
- Train, embed and monitor the Permit to Work process to ensure safe systems of work for construction and demolition projects and other non-routine high-risk activities. Ensure Service Providers manage their third parties to adhere to the Permit to Work process.
- Maintain current knowledge of facility and engineering safety applicable legislation with respect to Statutory engineering compliance, for Example: Lifting Systems, Pressure Systems, among others.
- Support investigations and root cause analysis into engineering related issues or failures. Have a strong ability to work in collaboration with cross disciplinary teams such as EHS, quality, Microbiology, Laboratory functions, Pilot Plant Manufacturing operations as well as WPS service providers to problem solve and overcome issues. Must be willing to own &/or support the completion of corrective and preventive actions as appropriate.
- Perform trend analysis of quality and safety critical systems as necessary and drive implementation of any corrective actions.
- Support completion of site gap analyses versus Haleon’s combined EHS & Engineering standards. Own activities & projects to support compliance to standards in the event of gaps identified.
- Facilitate frequent walkthroughs (i.e. GEMBA) within the facilities and/or pilot plants involving business and service partners.
- Monitor and contribute to site infrastructure life cycle asset management and capital plan development.
- Improve the sustainability and efficiency of the facilities, laboratories, and/or pilot plants including the identification of waste, driving implementation of energy savings projects, and contributing to engineering aspects of sustainability and energy reduction programs.
- Drive creation and completion of quality records (i.e. Change Controls) to support compliance on site.
- Integrate facilities engineering support within site operations to maximize facility ‘up-time’ and reliability for the R&D customers served by Workplace Solutions & its service providers at WPS Supported Locations.
- Must be capable & willing to develop into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned management of Hazards and risks based on the Duty Holder Matrix. Responsible of looking for training and development in support of your personal and professional growth within Haleon or outside Certifications.
- Support audit readiness at WPS facilities for internal and external audits covering WPS’s scope of services. Participate in audit preparedness activities & build capability over time to front audits on behalf of WPS.
- Supporting in the identification of capital projects and small minor work activities at the WPS Supported Locations. Project execution will be by others (WPS service providers).
- Be responsible for acting as a key technical stake holder to service provider project management teams to ensure smooth delivery & handover of projects to both WPS & our internal R&D customers.
- Become conversant with Haleon Computer systems for document management, maintenance management & EHS reporting. Where necessary own and support investigations within Haleon’s EHS management system-EHSOne.
- Support completion of engineering-related management monitoring activities per the WPS Management monitoring schedule.
- Assist in co-authorship and periodic reviews of existing & proposed Work instructions & Standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to be executed on behalf of the WPS team & its service providers.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
- 3+ years of experience with and proven record of management of complex facilities support services to a large office or pharmaceutical facility within a regulated environment
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Strong communication & problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership
- Preferred 5+ years of experience with and proven record of management of complex facilities support services to a large office or pharmaceutical facility, including GxP environment.
- Experience and knowledge of the Research & Development process and understands GxP requirements.
- Experience with and thorough understanding of statutory legislation responsibilities in a technically complex environment
- Act as a role model for applying standards to ensure compliance
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience with establishing strong working relationship with key external contract partners to deliver appropriate site services in agreement with established contracts.
- Lean Six Sigma experience
