This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

Position Overview

The Head of International Space & Security Policy will lead our global policy development and stakeholder engagement efforts across space, national security, and emerging technology domains. This senior leadership position requires an exceptional strategic mind with extensive experience navigating complex international policy landscapes and building relationships with government officials, heads of state, and industry leaders worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive international policy strategies to advance organizational objectives across government, commercial, and national security sectors
• Represent the organization in high-level engagements with foreign governments, international organizations, and partner entities
• Lead development of policy positions on space resources, regulatory frameworks, and international space governance
• Provide expert counsel to leadership on geopolitical dynamics impacting aerospace, defense, and technology sectors
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to support international business development and government relations initiatives
• Advise on international partnership opportunities and strategic alliance formation
• Support due diligence processes for international ventures and initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in international relations, security studies, space policy, or related field
• 15+ years of combined experience in government and private sector roles related to space, security, or technology policy
• Demonstrated experience developing national-level policies or strategies related to space or national security domains
• Proven track record building relationships with senior government officials and C-suite executives globally
• Experience representing organizational interests in complex international negotiations
• Strong understanding of national security frameworks, intelligence community operations, and defense priorities
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Excellent communication skills and executive presence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving in senior policy roles within the White House, Department of Defense, or equivalent
• Direct involvement in drafting or implementing national space policies
• Experience leading international negotiations on space governance or security frameworks
• Background in special access programs or sensitive government initiatives
• Experience building and leading teams in dynamic, high-pressure environments
• Established network of relationships across allied governments and international organizations
• Commercial experience in aerospace, cloud computing, or emerging technology sectors

Washington, DC (with significant international travel required)

 

Base Pay Range for:

VA applicants is $194,121.00 - $271,768.35

• Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
• Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
