Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist assists the Clinical Manager in overseeing daily operations of the Nuclear medicine department, is responsible for accreditation maintenance, as well as performing a variety of complex imaging and non-imaging tests on patients of all ages from neonatal to geriatric, which require professional judgment and interaction with patients, physicians, and other allied health care professionals. He/she is able to work independently although technical supervision assistance is always available. Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine, Positron Imaging, radiation safety and the ability to evaluate the results along with the ability to determine the need for concomitant or additional studies is required.
Requirements:
EDUCATION:
Completion of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- ARRT (N), ARRT(R), or NMTCB certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required.
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required **.
- and/or successful completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology training program.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- 5 years of clinical experience, with lead experience.
