The opportunity
At Hitachi Energy, you will play a key role in delivering major HVDC projects that support the energy transition. As a Civil Technical Site Advisor, you act as the technical authority for civil construction activities on site, ensuring that work is executed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
You will work closely with site management, construction teams, engineering, quality, HSE, and customer representatives. Your expertise will help guide critical decisions throughout construction, installation, and handover phases. You will provide technical advice, support quality inspections, identify risks, and contribute to continuous improvement across our HVDC projects.
This role is ideal for an experienced civil construction professional who enjoys being close to execution, solving complex site challenges, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in an international environment.
How you'll make an impact
You provide technical guidance for civil construction activities throughout project execution.
You support site management by monitoring progress, quality, documentation, and compliance.
You advise on civil construction interfaces with installation, commissioning, logistics, and engineering teams.
You promote safe working practices and support the implementation of HSE requirements and risk mitigation measures.
You review drawings, technical documentation, and site changes to ensure construction activities follow approved requirements.
You participate in inspections, quality walks, handovers, and non-conformance management activities.
You support project planning by providing input on schedules, construction sequencing, risks, and mitigation actions.
You capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement across future HVDC projects.
Your background
You have experience within the high-voltage, power transmission, or energy industry.
You have at least 5 years of experience in civil construction site activities.
You hold a higher education qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
You can interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
You have a strong understanding of quality, safety, and construction best practices.
You hold First Aid and CPR certification or are willing to obtain it.
