FLSmidth is looking for two competent and ambitious students to support our work with due diligence and compliance in an international work environment.

About the role

FLS is looking for two ambitious student assistants to support our due diligence work in Compliance, a key function within the broader Legal, Risk and Compliance Department. The selected candidate(s) will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in conducting thorough compliance due diligence, evaluating risks, and contributing to the development and implementation of our due diligence program.

We are responsible for FLS’ compliance due diligence practices and thus have hands-on knowledge with this field of expertise. A due diligence screening is a thorough examination of a business partner, involving company registration information, past experiences, adverse media, ownership structure and key individuals and impacts. It is a task which requires strong analytical skills, a flair for online research, excellent writing skills, a critical approach to sources as well as a big dose of creativity.

About the Department

As a Student in Compliance, you will work closely with the Senior Trade Compliance Officer and other experienced colleagues. You will be joining a committed Compliance team that is a part of the Global Legal, Risk and Compliance department which consists of colleagues all over the world who are responsible among other things for legal matters and intellectual property rights.

Your role and responsibilities
 

• Conducting due diligence screenings of global business partners to help us understand potential risks (including sanctions, ownership, anti-corruption, and other business integrity concerns).

• Drafting due diligence reports summarizing findings and recommendations for internal review

• Improving and optimizing our Due Diligence process to make sure that it effectively supports our company strategy and that it mitigates risks.

• Once your own training and onboarding is complete, you will assist colleagues on how to conduct due diligence screenings as part of the introduction programme.

• Collecting and analyzing data from various sources to assess compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

• Managing the on-going monitoring and re-screening of our business partners.

• Performing admin tasks related to the due diligence process.

• Involved in various communication activities, such as communication campaigns, newsletters, company-wide surveys and e-learning.

• Supporting other parts of our compliance work, including trade compliance / international sanctions, e-learning, trainings, and policy reviews among others.

What We Are Looking For
 

• You are a current masters-level student in a relevant field, e.g. law, commercial law, social science, international business, or similar - You must be enrolled as a student and have at least 18 months left of your studies to be taken into consideration for the position.

• Strong and relevant academic record.

• Excellent English skills. Other languages are a big plus. You are not required to speak Danish to apply for this position.

• Attention to detail and abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Solid analytical skills and proficiency in conducting research using online databases and other resources.

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate findings clearly.

Salary range: 180 DKK -190 DKK/hour

We aim for a start date of 1 October 2026 or sooner. Working hours are on average 20 hours per week and salary is paid by the hour. Place of work is FLS' global headquarters in Havneholmen in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Candidates must be able to work from our office in Copenhagen and hold a valid permit to work in Denmark.
