SCBA Technician

Leidos has an opening for SCBA Technician at the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, AL. The SCBA Technician will operate SCBA refill cascade system; troubleshoot, maintain, repair and provide accountability of SCBA bottles for the Center for Domestic Preparedness Training Delivery Services contract. This includes evaluating the condition of SCBA bottles and tracking standard life cycles and recertification requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operate cascade system to fill SCBA bottles to support training departments in a time-sensitive environment.

• Inspect and evaluate SCBA bottles to ensure the operational condition of bottles to include life cycle and hydrostatic testing dates are within safety standards prior to recharge

• Apply diagnostic skills and tools to troubleshoot SCBA equipment and perform repairs and maintenance as needed.

• Implement and maintain preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for SCBA air breathing systems.

• Perform scheduled inspections of SCBA breathing air machines, initiate air sample testing, and submits sample to testing facility

• Maintain regulatory updates, equipment manuals, and product catalogs pertaining to SCBA, fire equipment, and tools.

• Maintain logs, records and proper documentation of work activities, e.g., inventory logs, SBCA bottle usage, maintenance and repairs

• Initiate re-supply requests and tracks frequently utilized inventory items and ensure appropriate stock levels of materials required to operate and service equipment.

• Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED equivalent

• Able to lift up to 65 pounds on a consistent basis and may have to perform their duties standing for long periods of time.

• Must have good administrative skills, have a strong background in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and be able to produce and maintain spreadsheets and other records

• Due to Federal Contract Regulations, U. S. citizenship is required.

• Must have an accepted form of government-issued ID compliant with the Real ID Act

• Must submit to and obtain final suitability by successful completion of a pre-placement screening consisting of background check, financial institutions/credit bureau check, and disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year experience performing the SCBA Technician primary duties.

• Current training/certification on operating a breathing air refill station.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $35,750.00 - $64,625.00
