What You’ll Do
- Prepare and analyze samples such as pigments, fluoropolymers, inorganic materials, coatings, films, powders, dispersions, formulated products, and related samples using microscopy and complementary characterization techniques.
- Plan and execute microscopy studies to evaluate morphology, particle size and shape, dispersion quality, phase structure, surface features, defects, interfaces, agglomeration, and material interactions within application systems.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot microscopy and sample preparation equipment
- Develop, refine, and document sample preparation and imaging methods that improve data quality, repeatability, and relevance to technology and application performance questions.
- Analyze, interpret, and summarize imaging and characterization data to identify structure-property-performance relationships across multiple product and technology areas.
- Collaborate with product development scientists, technical service, process technology, manufacturing, and business teams to support new product development, troubleshooting, competitive analysis, process understanding, and customer application needs.
- Communicate technical findings through written reports, presentations, recommendations, and clear visual summaries for scientific and business audiences.
- Contribute to safe laboratory operations by following procedures, supporting hazard reviews, maintaining equipment readiness, and improving characterization workflows.
