The Algorithm team at Fortem is looking for an experienced Senior Algorithms Engineer with a passion for solving difficult problems. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving a variety of radar algorithms, with a focus on those related to radar signal processing and target detection/tracking. This is an 100% on-site position and U.S. Citizenship is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and validate effective and efficient signal processing algorithms to improve target detection and tracking
- Implement those algorithms on embedded hardware with timing and resource utilization constraints (primarily using C++)
- Develop test cases using real-world data to validate the efficacy of the algorithms and iterate the design process based on deficiencies.
- Work with the DroneHunter and SkyDome application teams to ensure that the radar output meets their requirements
- Derive and develop metrics to evaluate the performance.
- Signal processing, machine learning, and estimation tasks as needed.
- Other engineering activities and tasks to support the success and growth of Fortem Technologies, Inc.
Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Experimental Physics, Mathematics,
- Computer Science or a closely related field
- Strong experience and familiarity with radar algorithms (e.g. phased array processing, beamforming, MIMO, MUSIC, STAP, CFAR, detection), especially those related to Moving Target Indication (MTI)
- Experience with radar-based multiple target tracking is a plus
Knowledge of and experience with the following:
- Digital signal processing and numerical analysis (e.g., Fourier transforms, digital filters, linear algebra, optimization)
- Rapid numerical prototyping in Python
- Programming in C++
- Programming in Cuda is a plus
- Radar simulation
