Job Description
Job Summary:
The Shipping, Receiving & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, inventory control, and shipment of materials and products while ensuring compliance with company procedures and applicable domestic and international shipping regulations. This role supports operational efficiency by maintaining inventory accuracy, processing inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating with carriers and freight forwarders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to internal and external customers.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Receiving & Inventory Control
Receive and inspect incoming materials to verify quantity, part number accuracy, condition, and compliance with purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other documentation.
Identify and communicate shortages, overages, damaged goods, and other discrepancies to appropriate departments.
Process receipts in SAP and distribute materials to designated locations.
Label, store, and maintain inventory in accordance with established procedures.
Record country-of-origin information and maintain required receiving documentation.
Collect and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for hazardous materials.
Perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
Pull material kits and support stockroom operations as required.
Shipping & Logistics
Prepare, package, label, and process domestic and international shipments in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
Review shipping requirements and select appropriate carriers, service levels, and shipment methods.
Generate shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, export documents, hazardous material paperwork, and carrier-specific forms.
Coordinate pickups and shipments with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs representatives.
File export documentation and Automated Export System (AES) submissions as required.
Provide shipping and freight cost information to internal stakeholders when needed.
Deliver shipments to carrier locations when necessary.
Compliance & Administration
Ensure compliance with DOT, EAR, hazardous materials, and import/export regulations.
Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and export records.
Monitor email, respond to inquiries, and provide support related to shipping and receiving activities.
Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and materials.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or inventory control experience.
Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
Current Hazardous Materials Certification (49 CFR) preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures, including commercial invoices and export documentation preferred.
Familiarity with export compliance requirements, including ECCN, Schedule B, AES filings, and Shipper's Letters of Instruction preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
