Job Description
Customer Services Package Refurbishment and Upgrades (PRU) Engineering provides engineered solutions in support of the execution of aftermarket projects. The Controls Design Engineer (CDE) is responsible for the design and implementation of turbine and driven-equipment control system retrofits and upgrades.
The successful candidate will work as part of a project team led by Customer Services Project Management, executing projects ranging from minor package system upgrades to the complete refurbishment of entire packages. The role requires close collaboration with engineering, fabrication, assembly, logistics, and field installation teams to ensure that project designs are high quality, safe, and cost-effective.
The position often requires independently gathering and analyzing relevant data, identifying project issues, and developing engineering solutions with minimal technical supervision. Facilitating design reviews with peers and team members is also an important part of the role.
The ideal candidate is thorough, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely. They must be comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and meeting project deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to keep project stakeholders informed of issues and progress. Excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset are also required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 1+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley RSLogix or other PLC programming software.
- Basic knowledge of SCADA systems.
- Experience using 2D CAD software.
- Experience in electrical systems engineering, including:
- Medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution
- Cable sizing
- Short-circuit calculations
- Load flow studies
- Experience preparing documentation required by regulatory authorities, including CE marking, Declarations of Conformity, and ATEX documentation.
- Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action processes.
- Good technical English is required. Knowledge of Italian and/or German is considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Configure standard products according to project requirements.
- Generate purchase orders for standard components and extended-scope items.
- Specify, research, evaluate, and select special components.
- Prepare parts lists and manufacturing documentation, and follow up with production teams.
- Develop functional descriptions and project-specific manuals, and ensure completion of all project documentation.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with gas turbine OEMs and/or service providers such as Siemens, GE Vernova (formerly Baker Hughes/GE), EthosEnergy, or Kawasaki.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas or Power Generation industries is highly desirable.
Base Minimum Pay:
Kč614,304.00

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
