Description

Together, we innovate for a stronger Colorado

The work of employees at the Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) is challenging and diverse because the needs of agencies, customers and Coloradans constantly evolve. But our focus never changes: improve the lives of all Coloradans through innovation and collaboration. We're building one of the nation's leading government IT organizations by reimagining how we support agencies, building first-of-their-kind applications, and creating an inclusive, collaborative culture, together. Join us in the important work of providing equitable access to services.

Watch this video to learn more about how we're Serving People. Serving Colorado.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please review your application to ensure completion. For the most equitable applicant experience, OIT’s hiring team considers only the contents of your application to review your qualifications. Please do not include any attachments (such as resume or cover letter) with your application as these items are not used by OIT’s hiring team.

Do you want to make our beautiful state even better? At OIT, we provide secure digital services that put Coloradans first.

The Cloud Integrations Solutions Architect will act as a senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical authority within the Office of Information Technology (OIT). You will be responsible for designing, architecting, and supporting mission-critical, secure, and highly efficient cloud hosting and enterprise-class platforms and solutions across the agency. As an integral leader, you will participate in the development and formulation of plans, policies, standards, and programs in the areas of secure multi-tenant cloud hosting services and the Service Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of those services.

If using your creativity and innovation in the development and delivery of cloud based solutions is what you want to do, apply today for the chance to also put your passion into the state you love.

Some of the day to day opportunities include:

Establishing scalable cloud hosting standards, policies, and SDLC frameworks to ensure secure, uniform multi-tenant service delivery across the enterprise. Outcome: Standardized, secure, and compliant cloud operations across all agency teams.

Architecting and delivering robust IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and DBaaS solutions to maximize system performance, uptime, and operational cost-efficiency. Outcome: High-performance, reliable, and cost-optimized digital infrastructure.

Executing seamless hybrid-cloud migrations and deploying enterprise shared hosting services to reduce legacy infrastructure costs and modernize agency workloads. Outcome: Modernized digital services with reduced technical debt and lower operational overhead.

Accelerating software delivery cycles and harden environment reliability by embedding DevSecOps, cloud orchestration, and immutable infrastructure practices across teams. Outcome: Faster, safer software releases with increased system stability and security.

Standardizing and promoting reusable architecture and deployment patterns and CI/CD pipelines to shorten release cycles, eliminate redundant development, and improve deployment consistency. Outcome: Streamlined development processes and consistent, high-quality application deployments, enabling delivery teams to move faster, rather than creating gated governance that slows them down.

Adopting a product-lifecycle approach to cloud services—measuring success not by 'go-live' dates, but by user feedback, system reliability, and actual business outcomes for agency partners.

Resolving high-level multi-tenant engineering bottlenecks to ensure seamless, secure interoperability across agency systems. Outcome: Frictionless system integration and improved operational agility.

Translating strategic product roadmaps into production-ready cloud architectures through lifecycle analysis with product and operations leaders. Outcome: Architectures that directly align with and accelerate business and product objectives.

Integrating best-of-breed security controls into all cloud designs to successfully pass audits and secure GovRAMP, FedRAMP, FISMA, DoD IL4, and State compliance accreditations. Outcome: Guaranteed compliance posture and minimized organizational risk.

Building robust data recovery and DR strategies to strictly enforce target RPO and RTO metrics, protecting critical systems against outages or data loss. Outcome: Resilience against data loss and assurance of system availability during disasters.

Validating active-active and active-passive failover capabilities through rigorous testing and BIA alignment to guarantee business continuity during enterprise disruptions. Outcome: Minimized downtime and guaranteed continuity for mission-critical services.

Evaluating cloud market research and feasibility studies to recommend data-backed technology investments that drive continuous operational improvement. Outcome: Strategic, fiscally responsible technology choices that promote long-term efficiency.

Evaluating and managing relationships with cloud service providers and vendors to ensure alignment with organizational goals, service level agreements (SLAs), and total cost of ownership (TCO) targets. Outcome: Optimized vendor partnerships that meet performance standards and budget constraints.
