Do you want to play an important role in the life of children? You can as a crossing guard for elementary schools within the Tooele City limits. Our crossing guards are not only tasked with helping children safely cross roadways, they're also often the first adults that children encounter during their school day and the last before students return home.

This is a perfect job opportunity for someone who needs flexibility in their work hours, frequent breaks between work shifts, or wants to earn extra cash.

Examples of duties:

• Monitors activities at school cross walks which includes keeping children under control and directing traffic;
• Utilizes a hand-held stop sign and directs traffic to stop; guides children and other citizens to other side of street;
• Turns on flashing lights to notify drivers of school zone speed; places cones and other safety markers on cross lane as appropriate; and
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Shifts follow the elementary school schedule which generally consists of 1 hour of work for each morning and end of school shift.

This is a safety-sensitive position. Must be at least 18 years old and pass a police background check.
