The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to play a critical role in the successful delivery of a major Victorian electricity transmission project.
In this role, you will be responsible for cost management, forecasting, schedule integration, performance reporting, progress measurement, change control, risk integration, and governance reporting across the project lifecycle.
Working closely with finance, commercial, technical, and delivery teams, as well as external contractors, advisors, and financiers, you will provide the systems, insights, and reporting required to support informed decision-making and ensure effective oversight of project performance.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced project controls professional to influence the delivery of nationally significant renewable energy infrastructure within a complex environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of controls framework, governance processes and reporting systems.
Establish integrated controls processes covering cost management, scheduling, forecasting, risk management, change control and performance reporting.
Coordinate the development and maintenance of project cost and schedule baselines.
Manage project expenditure, forecasting, cash flow analysis and contingency tracking activities.
Develop and maintain executive dashboards, performance reporting and project controls documentation.
Monitor project performance and provide timely analysis of cost, schedule, risk and delivery trends.
Coordinate change control processes, assess project impacts and support governance approvals.
Lead integrated project controls reporting during design, construction and commissioning phases.
Support contractor performance monitoring, earned value analysis and forecast completion reporting.
Ensure alignment between schedule progress, commercial performance and project delivery outcomes.
Lead continuous improvement of project controls systems, reporting capability and project assurance processes.
Required Skills and Competencies
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Commerce or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in project controls, project management or commercial management roles within major infrastructure, energy, utilities or construction projects.
Strong knowledge of cost control, forecasting, scheduling integration, earned value management, change control and performance reporting.
Experience developing and managing integrated project controls systems and reporting frameworks.
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project information and provide meaningful insights.
Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across multidisciplinary delivery environments.
Excellent communication and reporting capability, including preparation of executive-level reporting and dashboards.
Experience leading teams and driving accountability, performance and continuous improvement.
