Hourly Wage: $24.46

About the role:
Performs a wide range of accounting and administrative tasks to support the daily operations of the County Treasurer’s Office including revenue reconciliation, data entry, record maintenance, and customer service. Ensures the accuracy and accountability in funds and supports reporting compliance.
  • Counts, balances, and reconciles staff collections and receipts. Balances daily totals using accounting and activity systems and reporting. Investigates and adjusts for discrepancies. Runs related reports. 
  • Records, balances, and reconciles daily and monthly banking activities and accounts and balances check registers.  
  • Prepares, processes, verifies, and records deposits, refunds, and transactions. Advances and verifies bank transfers and enters journal entries. Voids transactions, as necessary. Prints checks. 
  • Scans, verifies, and maintains related documentation. 
  • Responds to inquiries from customers, other departments, and financial institutions. Provides and explains forms and processes to customers. 
  • Records and notifies customers of returned checks and non-sufficient funds (NSF) payments via email, phone, or letter. Conducts collection activities. 
  • Codes and validates new assessments into the County system. 
  • Prepares statistical reports for revenue, collections, disbursements, and fund balances; compiles information for state, federal, and local taxing authority reports; prepares/maintains spreadsheets. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Four (4) years of related experience working with financial transactions, accounting, or bookkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Experience working for a county or other governmental organization is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and skills for this position may be considered.

7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
