About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations across CNC machining, assembly, and product testing.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Operations, the Production Manager will lead Production Team Leaders and be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the production organization, with accountability for safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and cost.

The successful candidate will be a visible leader on the manufacturing floor who can develop Team Leaders, establish clear priorities, solve production problems, improve manufacturing flow, and drive measurable improvements in operational performance. This position works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Finance to achieve business and customer objectives

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop Team Leaders: Manage, coach, and develop six Production Team Leaders, establishing clear expectations and accountability for their respective manufacturing areas.
  • Drive On-Time Delivery: Own execution of the production schedule, monitor schedule attainment, identify risks, and implement recovery plans to meet customer commitments.
  • Manage Capacity and Resources: Balance labor, machine capacity, materials, and production priorities while proactively addressing bottlenecks and manufacturing constraints.
  • Improve Manufacturing Performance: Monitor and improve productivity, throughput, machine utilization, setup and cycle times, lead time, scrap, rework, overtime, and other key manufacturing metrics.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead improvements in manufacturing flow, standard work, setup reduction, workplace organization, material flow, and waste reduction using Lean and continuous improvement principles.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Engineering to resolve manufacturing and technical issues, Quality to address defects and corrective actions, and Finance to understand and improve manufacturing cost performance.
  • Develop the Production Organization: Build workforce capability through coaching, training, cross-training, performance management, and development of front-line leadership.
  • Promote Safety and Quality: Maintain a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the production organization.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a production supervisory or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading front-line manufacturing supervisors, Team Leaders, and/or production employees.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment involving CNC machining and/or precision mechanical components.
  • Working knowledge of CNC machining operations, including setups, cycle times, tooling, scrap, machine utilization, and capacity.
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, labor planning, and manufacturing workflow.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve productivity, throughput, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Experience using manufacturing ERP/MRP systems. Hands-on experience with Epicor or Infor ERP is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles, including standard work, 5S, root-cause analysis, and waste reduction.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.
  • Experience with assembly and functional testing of mechanical products and/or experience in defense, aerospace, valve, fluid-control, or industrial equipment manufacturing is a plus.
  • Strong floor leadership with a willingness to spend significant time within manufacturing operations.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
