Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer - Integrator to join our team. This position will be located at Clearfield, UT to support the Remote Visual Assessment (RVA) program in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing complex systems and solutions that meet the government specific requirements.
• Works closely with stakeholders to understand system needs, defining system architectures and design concepts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integration and deployment.
• Perform systems analysis, studies, and technical assessments to identify and mitigate risks, and will develop and maintain system documentation, including system design documents, test plans, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards and will provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of systems engineering principles, technical expertise in relevant areas such as software development, cybersecurity, or network engineering, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

 

Basic Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of related experience; or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience; or 1 year with a PhD
• Must be a US Citizen with an ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance, at time of application within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
• Requires experience in technical problem solving, to include participating in root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring
• Requires experience with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
• Experience developing technical products for and conducting design reviews and other major program events
• Demonstrated experience collaborating cross-functionally with integrated product and specialty engineering teams, suppliers, and customer counterparts
• Experience owning, processing, and implementing change requests through engineering review boards
• Experience across all phases of the program life cycle
• Demonstrated hardware and/or software experience supporting teams on design, operation, integration, configuration, and maintenance of military security systems, networks, radios and video links
• Experience sustaining engineering data packages to include requirements/specifications, drawings, interface documents applicable to systems with long term service life systems
• Experience working with and developing network/electronic work instructions, maintenance procedures, safety policies and quality procedures
• Experience applying safety considerations in all aspects of program execution
• Experience performing trade studies on technical options for system repair or update solutions
• Experience in development of labor and material cost estimates
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Good communications skills with experience delivering formal briefings/presentations to senior leadership and being primary technical focal point to end user

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
