Role Summary
The Director of Learning will be responsible for defining, leading, and executing the organization's enterprise learning strategy, ensuring the development of high-impact learning solutions that strengthen leadership capabilities, accelerate workforce development, and support the company's strategic business objectives. This executive role combines extensive expertise in Learning & Development, organizational capability building, leadership development, talent strategy, and business partnership, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership while fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organization's enterprise learning strategy aligned with business priorities and long-term organizational goals.
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of leadership development, learning, and capability-building initiatives across all levels of the organization.
- Partner with executive leadership and business stakeholders to identify organizational capability gaps and develop strategic learning solutions.
- Drive enterprise-wide learning transformation initiatives, including upskilling, reskilling, digital learning, and leadership succession programs.
- Establish learning metrics, evaluate program effectiveness, and measure business impact and return on investment (ROI).
- Oversee the design and delivery of executive education, leadership academies, coaching, mentoring, and talent development programs.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by leveraging innovative learning technologies, instructional methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Lead and develop the Learning & Development team while managing external learning vendors, consultants, universities, and strategic partners.
- Stay current on emerging trends in leadership development, organizational learning, talent management, and workforce transformation.
Profile Requirements
- PhD, Doctorate, or advanced Master's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or another relevant discipline.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in senior Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Talent Management, Human Resources, or Learning Transformation leadership roles.
- Proven experience designing and leading enterprise-wide learning and leadership development strategies.
- Experience within private-sector organizations, preferably in pharmaceutical, healthcare, biotechnology, financial services, or professional services industries.
- Strong background partnering with executive leadership and leading organizational transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience managing learning budgets, learning technologies (LMS/LXP), external vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align learning investments with organizational performance.
- Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence stakeholders at the C-suite and Board levels.
