Responsibilities

The Opportunity

 

Join CARICAM Procurement as an IT Buyer, supporting the negotiation of technology services and the business’s growing digital agenda.

 

This is a development role where the main focus will be negotiation and strategy—understanding business needs, evaluating scenarios and building commercial solutions with suppliers. Deep technical expertise or programming is not required; the IT Procurement knowledge will be developed on the job.

 

Your Impact

 

As a GP IT Buyer, your impact will be:

  • Sourcing & NegotiationSupport IT sourcing processes, supplier evaluations and commercial negotiations across CARICAM.
  • Business PartnershipWork with IT, Digital and business teams to understand needs and translate them into sourcing solutions.
  • Supplier & Contract SupportFollow up on suppliers, contracts, renewals and key Procurement milestones.
  • Data & Digital LearningUse data and market insights to support decisions while building knowledge of emerging technologies such as cloud, automation and AI.
 

Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?  

 

Academic Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electronic), Business Administration or related fields.

Experience

  • Internship, academic project or early-career experience involving negotiation, commercial discussions, supplier interaction or business problem-solving.
  • Exposure to Procurement, sourcing or technology-related projects is a plus.

Tools & Languages

  • Advanced English – fluency required.
  • Excel: Intermediate–Advanced.
  • Power BI: Basic knowledge.
  • Exposure to AI, cloud, automation and digital tools is a plus.
