Job Description:
Role Synopsis
This role sits between our retail operations teams and the functions that design and deliver change across the business, helping ensure change is implemented consistently across our UK company-owned and dealer franchise estate.
You'll lead a small team and work closely with colleagues across retail, field and support centre teams to help deliver practical outcomes for stores, customers and colleagues. The role combines retail operations expertise with change delivery, ensuring we can balance day-to-day priorities with long-term business goals.
You'll provide support, challenge and guidance across programmes and initiatives, helping teams understand operational impacts and deliver changes that work in practice. As a key member of the retail operations leadership team, you'll play an important role in supporting both business performance and future growth.
Key Accountabilities
Lead, coach and develop a small team responsible for supporting the successful delivery of change into stores.
Work with colleagues across the business to ensure programmes, projects and operational initiatives can be implemented consistently across our retail network.
Review and improve ways of working, balancing day-to-day operational priorities with future business needs.
Build effective approaches to change delivery, including planning, communication, reporting and performance monitoring.
Help create a culture where decisions support customers, store colleagues, operational performance and commercial outcomes.
Provide retail operations insight, challenge and support across leadership forums, working groups and projects.
Support commercial performance by helping ensure initiatives are delivered within agreed budgets, resources and timelines.
Act as a point of contact for operational issues and support critical or emergency situations when required.
Undertake any other reasonable duties required by the business.
Crucial Experience and Job Requirements
We're looking for someone who combines retail operations experience with strong leadership skills and the ability to work across a complex organisation.
You'll bring:
Experience leading and developing teams, ideally within a customer-facing retail environment.
Retail experience, preferably in convenience retail, FMCG or a similarly fast-paced environment.
Experience delivering change and helping teams adopt new ways of working.
The ability to coach, influence and support colleagues to achieve strong performance.
Commercial awareness and confidence using financial information and performance data to identify opportunities and drive improvement.
Experience balancing operational problem-solving with longer-term planning and decision-making.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
A proactive approach and a genuine interest in helping stores perform at their best.
Desirable Experience
It would be helpful if you also have:
Knowledge of roadside retail or a related sector.
Experience working in a large, multi-function organisation.
Exposure to senior leadership teams and cross-functional projects.
