👐 About the team
You'll join the CMS Engineering Team under François Gomis, Engineering Manager. We're a team of 4 engineers (1 senior, 2 intermediate) plus a part-time PM, building and maintaining Alma's payment plugins across 6 major e-commerce platforms (Sylius, Magento, PrestaShop, WooCommerce, Shopify, SFCC). We're scaling our capacity to deliver more seamlessly across our ecosystem and empower our team's technical growth.
This position is a permanent contract (CDI), based in Paris OR open to full remote from Metropolitan France.
💼 About the job
Plugin Architecture
- Improve the architecture of existing plugins and guide AI agents in creating new plugins with clean, maintainable structures.
- Set patterns that scale across our plugin ecosystem.
Code Quality
- Implement review standards, enforce PHP patterns, set up linting/testing tools, and audit test coverage.
- Lead code reviews and pair programming sessions to help intermediate engineers grow technically.
Best Practices & Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate and lead refinement sessions, help the team iterate on processes, and embed a culture of continuous improvement across the CMS squad.
Cross-Platform Consistency
- Harmonize patterns and conventions across Sylius, Magento, PrestaShop, WooCommerce, Shopify, and SFCC to reduce complexity and accelerate delivery.

🧩 About you
To succeed in this job
- Solid expertise in PHP and backend architecture
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining plugins
- Ability to design systems that scale across multiple platforms
- Track record of mentoring or growing other engineers
And it will be nice if you also
- Have deep expertise in at least one major CMS (Magento, Sylius, or WooCommerce)
- Have informal leadership background or willingness to step into it
- Are open to work with AI tools in your development workflow
