Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Mechanical Engineer (Theme Park and Entertainment) to join our team in Qatar!
In this role, you will be part of the Construction Supervision Consultant team supporting the delivery of a landmark luxury hospitality and entertainment development featuring immersive entertainment experiences, world-class hospitality, premium retail, and diverse leisure attractions.
You will supervise the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of conventional and specialist mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, utility networks, ride-support infrastructure, show HVAC, water attractions, filtration and water-treatment systems, life-support systems, and other themed entertainment installations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Supervise the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of all mechanical systems in accordance with the Contract Documents, approved IFC drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
Monitor the Contractor’s mechanical works to ensure compliance with approved quality standards, construction methodologies, project schedules, and HSE requirements.
Review and provide technical comments on shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, inspection requests, and other technical submissions related to mechanical works.
Supervise the installation and integration of HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, fire-protection interfaces, utility networks, and other building mechanical services.
Provide technical oversight for specialist themed entertainment mechanical systems, including ride-support infrastructure, show HVAC, water attractions, water-treatment and filtration systems, life-support systems, compressed-air systems, and other specialist installations.
Coordinate mechanical interfaces with structural, architectural, electrical, fire and life safety, ride systems, show systems, utility infrastructure, and specialist attraction vendors.
Witness inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, functional testing, and mechanical commissioning activities to verify compliance with project requirements.
Monitor construction quality through regular inspections, identify non-conforming works, and coordinate corrective actions with the Contractor and QA/QC team.
Support the Resident Engineer in evaluating variations, technical issues, engineering clarifications, and site instructions related to mechanical works.
Coordinate with operators, specialist suppliers, manufacturers, and commissioning teams to support the successful integration and operational readiness of all mechanical systems.
Participate in snagging, de-snagging, substantial completion inspections, handover activities, and Defects Liability Period inspections related to mechanical systems.
Review as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, commissioning documentation, warranties, and handover records for completeness and compliance.
Prepare technical reports, inspection records, progress updates, and recommendations for submission to the Resident Engineer and Project Management team.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent professional registration is preferred.
Minimum 12 years of experience supervising mechanical works on major hospitality, entertainment, mixed-use, or destination developments.
Demonstrated experience in Construction Supervision or Resident Engineering roles on large multidisciplinary projects.
Proven experience supervising mechanical systems associated with themed entertainment developments, water parks, attraction facilities, integrated resorts, or other complex leisure destinations.
Strong experience with HVAC systems, chilled water systems, plumbing, water-treatment and filtration systems, life-support systems, utility infrastructure, and mechanical building services.
Experience supervising testing and commissioning, integrated systems testing, operational readiness, and project handover.
GCC experience is highly desirable.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify construction issues, engineering conflicts, and practical site solutions.
Excellent communication, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to review and interpret IFC drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings, engineering calculations, commissioning documentation, and operation and maintenance manuals.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple work fronts while maintaining focus on quality, safety, schedule, and contractual compliance.
Ability to function effectively within large multidisciplinary construction environments while maintaining focus on engineering excellence, operational readiness, successful commissioning, and project handover.
