SUMMARY: The Rendered Products Rail Fleet Management and Finance Supervisor will be responsible for management of daily AR/AP functions of the rendered products transportation group including but not limited to freight invoice auditing, fleet maintenance estimate/invoice tracking and auditing, customer demurrage collections, lease invoice tracking and monthly payments.

This position will also execute tracking and recording of key performance indicators, execution of deliverables to senior leadership including weekly financial/operational KPI reports, and monthly internal cost accounting reports. Duties will also include tracking, assisting with and resolving financial/invoicing disputes with third party customers, carriers, lessors and maintenance providers to ensure Tyson is paying the fair amount to maintain our fleet.

This position will coordinate closely with operations to ensure fast turnaround on MRU estimates or shop estimates along with tracking the status of cars undergoing repairs from vendor set up to final release of the cars.

Other duties will include participation and contributions to departmental wide projects with the goal of data driven continuous improvement.

This position is encouraged to bring new and fresh ideas to the table for these projects. This position will coordinate daily with the freight payables team, transportation accounting team, internal project management team, and operations team to ensure execution of objectives at the highest level. Along with coordination with rail and truck ops, this position will cross train with these two teams to gain operational insights and provide assistance when needed to maintain adequate cross departmental functionality and operational stability.

Tasks will include daily communication with third party trucking companies, monitoring of inventory levels, coordination of truck arrival times to plants and customers, tracking loaded and empty railcars on TMS software or RR websites, managing balance of railcars across plant network, and controlling demurrage and storage costs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Invoice auditing, disputes, and approvals.
  • KPI tracking and recording.
  • Execution of weekly and monthly deliverable reports to leadership.
  • Coordination with ops and project management groups daily.
  • Car shop status tracking.
  • Car maintenance estimate tracking and approvals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: 3 plus years Tyson transportation experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office is a plus; TMS experience is preferred; SAP experience is welcome; Microsoft excel skills are a plus
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent cross-departmental coordination skills.
