Mō te tūranga | About the role
Be part of the team at Levels Quarry in Timaru, where good work, strong teamwork, and safe operations matter every day. This is a hands-on role where you’ll support the day-to-day running of the quarry, help keep plant and equipment in good shape, and play a big part in keeping the site safe, productive, and well organised.
You’ll be working with a down-to-earth crew who back each other, take pride in the job, and know when to switch on and deliver. If you’re reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable getting stuck in, this could be a great fit.
Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities
- Operate quarry plant and mobile equipment safely and efficiently to support daily production.
- Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and basic servicing of plant and equipment.
- Monitor site conditions, consent monitoring and support safe, compliant quarry operations at all times.
- Work closely with the wider team to keep production on track and the site running smoothly.
- Help maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organised worksite.
- Support stockpile management and quarry development activities across the site.
- Assist with quality assurance testing of aggregates.
- Identify and report hazards, faults, or maintenance issues promptly.
Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with
- A full Class Class 4 and WTR endorsements is required.
- Experience in quarrying, or a similar hands-on environment.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders, mobile screening equipment, excavators, dump trucks, or similar plant.
- Mechanical aptitude, with the ability to carry out routine checks and basic maintenance tasks.
- A strong commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing, with a reliable and team-focused approach.
- B grade quarry managers COC (or working towards) would be advantageous.
