Term: 12 months
Location: Cairo, Egypt
Relevant experience: 8-10 years in travel/ OTA, travel distribution
Mandatory requirements: Experience with the travel industry/ travel platforms (e.g. Amadeus, Sabre, booking.com)
PURPOSE OF JOB
The Travel OTA Product Owner is accountable for defining, prioritizing, and continuously improving the end-to-end digital travel booking experience across flights, hotels, and car rentals. The role owns the product vision, roadmap, backlog, and delivery outcomes across customer experience, supplier connectivity, commercial performance, operational readiness, and post-booking support.
TASKS
Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Product Strategy and Roadmap: Define the product vision and strategic roadmap for flights, hotels and car rentals, aligned to business goals, customer needs, partner obligations and market trends.
- Backlog Ownership and Delivery Prioritization: Own and maintain the product backlog, translating business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, workflow definitions and release scope.
- Customer Experience and Journey Ownership: Own the end-to-end traveler journey from search through booking, confirmation, servicing, cancellation, refund and post-trip support.
- Supplier, Platform and Integration Management: Coordinate with airline, hotel, car rental, aggregator, GDS, NDC, bedbank and API partners to define required capabilities and service expectations.
- Commercial and Performance Management: Track and improve conversion, booking volume, revenue, margin, cancellation rate, refund cycle time, customer satisfaction and operational cost-to-serve.
- Stakeholder Management and Governance: Act as the primary product point of contact across business, technology, operations, partnerships, customer support, finance, legal and compliance teams; run governance forums and provide executive-ready updates.

- Flights- Own search relevance, fare display, booking flow, ticketing, ancillaries, airline rules, schedule changes, cancellations, refunds and integration quality across airline, GDS, NDC or aggregator partners.
- Hotels- Own property content, availability, rate accuracy, room selection, booking confirmation, cancellation terms, special requests, merchant/agency model flows and supplier service quality.
- Car Rentals- Own vehicle availability, rental conditions, pick-up/drop-off logic, insurance and add-ons, supplier confirmation, cancellation handling and post-booking service rules.
- Cross-Product- Own unified booking journey, traveler profile, payment flow, loyalty earn/redemption, notifications, customer servicing, reporting, reconciliation and exception handling.
Knowledge and Experience
- Strong understanding of OTA business models, travel distribution, supplier integrations and digital booking journeys.
- Working knowledge of flight, hotel and car rental product flows, including pricing, availability, booking, cancellation, refund and servicing logic.
- Ability to translate commercial and operational needs into clear product requirements and delivery priorities.
- Strong stakeholder management across commercial, technology, operations, finance, legal, compliance, support and external suppliers.
- Data-driven decision-making with ability to interpret performance trends, customer friction points and operational incidents.
- Practical understanding of agile delivery, backlog management, release planning and product governance.
- Executive communication skills with ability to present trade-offs, risks, roadmap status and required decisions clearly.
Mandatory Skills**
- Travel OTA / online travel product ownership experience and strong knowledge of the flight vertical
- Knowledge of supplier connectivity and integrations, including GDS, NDC, aggregator, bedbank, API or similar travel platforms.
- Strong analytical orientation with ability to track product performance and convert insights into roadmap priorities.
- Understanding of travel payments, pricing/rate rules, cancellations, refunds, reconciliation, customer support and exception management is a plus

- Experience in all three product domains- flights, hotels and car rentals
- Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management and governance discipline across business, technology, operations, legal, compliance and external partners.
- Hands-on experience defining user stories, acceptance criteria, journey flows, release scope and backlog priorities.
