JOB PURPOSE:

This position takes a lead role in planning, facilitation, and assessment of activities related to the Asset Management Academy within the HPS Center for Financial Excellence. The position also plays a pivotal role in facilitating and enhancing internship opportunities, ensuring that our Academy students receive meaningful and impactful learning experiences. This role involves close collaboration with Center staff, students, faculty, employers, and relevant stakeholders to develop, coordinate, and manage opportunities that align with the educational goals and career aspirations of our students. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Operations.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:

Internal contacts generally include administrators, faculty, students, and staff. External contacts generally include vendors, consultants, visitors, and the public.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Internal contacts include administrators, faculty, staff and students both within the department and University-wide. External contacts include government agencies, sponsor representatives, vendors, visitors, officials and the public.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Works closely with the Associate Director of Operations and exercises independent judgement in the identification and facilitation of workshops, skills-based career trainings and certifications.
  • Coordinates all aspects of academy and internship responsibilities, including recruitment, placement, orientation, and evaluation.
  • Cultivates and sustains relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community partners to establish a robust network of internship opportunities.
  • Provides career guidance to students, assisting them in identifying suitable internship opportunities based on their academic interests and career goals.
  • Collaborates with academic departments to align internship experiences with program learning outcomes, ensuring that students gain relevant skills and competencies.
  • Organizes and conducts workshops in coordination with the Center team to prepare students for successful internships, covering topics such as resume writing, interview skills, workplace professionalism, and more.
  • Stays updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in the field of internships and experiential learning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or five (5) years of professional experience in the finance services industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and WorkDay database experience; familiarity with event planning strongly preferred.
