About the role
As Chief of Staff for the Software Organization, you will ensure the leadership team is working on the company's most critical priorities as part of effective cross-functional partnerships. You will drive key aspects of organizational maturity around training and onboarding of new engineering talent, key performance indicators, and well-aligned objectives and key results. You will work with the chiefs of staff of our partner organizations to ensure alignment and adoption of consistent processes and a unified operating model.
You will serve as a trusted advisor on engaging with public and private sector partners, and on how to communicate and negotiate to ensure success for both Muon and our customers. By taking on key initiatives and acting as a proxy for the Vice President of Software, you will free him to focus on long-term strategy, new capabilities and opportunities for innovation.
This position is hybrid and requires working on-site in our San Jose, CA office three days per week.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Software organization's OKR (Objectives and Key Results) process, ensuring alignment with company goals and partner organization needs.
- Oversee the scheduling and preparation of materials for onboarding, on-site meetings and training programs for software teams.
- Manage and ensure appropriate communication and structure to resolve escalations around deadlines, organizational misalignment or resource gaps.
- Own the strategy for communication within the Software organization and with the broader company.
- Align, publish and maintain the org strategy for government and other sensitive missions.
- Champion organizational culture by ensuring that the company values and mission are understood and embodied throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of professional experience; 5+ years of experience in demanding roles like program management, business operations, management consulting or similar strategic positions
- Execution Skills: Exceptional project management skills with a proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable results.
- Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Strategic Mindset: A strategic thinker who can connect a long-term vision to the tactical implementation required to get there, and identify key risks and opportunities.
- Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Salary
The salary range for this role is $147,000 - $178,000, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
