Position Summary
The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist/Technician is responsible for ensuring that products manufactured within EZARC's Off-Site Modularization (OSM) facility continue to meet customer specifications, company quality standards, engineering requirements, and applicable industry codes after they leave the OSM shop and are delivered to the project site. This role performs onsite inspections and quality verification throughout installation and turnover, identifies and documents quality concerns, verifies corrective actions, supports resolution of quality issues, and ensures completed work meets project requirements and EZARC's quality standards.
The QA Specialist/Technician will work closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and the client to maintain quality expectations and support continuous improvement from off-site manufacturing through onsite installation and final turnover.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Incoming Material Inspection
- Inspect incoming raw materials, purchased components, hardware, and fabricated assemblies.
- Verify materials against purchase orders, drawings, specifications, and certifications.
- Review Material Test Reports (MTRs), Certificates of Compliance, and supplier documentation.
- Document and report nonconforming materials.
In-Process Quality Inspections
- Perform dimensional inspections throughout onsite installation and turnover.
- Verify compliance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications.
- Inspect:
- Structural steel assemblies
- Mechanical components
- Electrical components
- Welded components
- Modular skids
- Packaged products
- Utilize precision measuring equipment to verify tolerances.
Final Inspection
- Conduct comprehensive final inspections.
- Ensure all customer requirements have been completed.
- Verify labeling, documentation, and cleanliness.
- Compile QC turnover packages for client acceptance.
Documentation
- Complete inspection reports accurately and timely.
- Maintain inspection records electronically and in company systems.
- Document non-conforming products (NCRs).
- Support First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Maintain quality traceability documentation.
- Maintain employee and subcontractor certifications applicable to the scope.
Quality Systems
- Assist in maintaining company Quality Management System (QMS).
- Support ISO standards and customer audits.
- Participate in internal quality audits.
- Verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring quality issues.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis.
- Assist with Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Support 5S and continuous improvement projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 4 years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing, structural steel, fabrication, precision manufacturing, modular construction, or related industries.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Engineering drawings
- Blueprints
- Assembly drawings
- Weld symbols
- GD&T (preferred)
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
- Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP software.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Quality, or related field.
- ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT).
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) (preferred but not required).
- Experience with semiconductor manufacturing or cleanroom products.
- Experience with structural steel fabrication.
- ISO 9001 Quality Management System experience.
- Lean Manufacturing training.
- Root Cause Analysis experience.
