Position Overview
The General Manager / Sales Team Leader is accountable for profitable store performance and for achieving personal and store sales goals on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. This is an active selling-leader role: the manager will coach from the floor, assist with closing sales, develop the team, protect the client experience, and keep operations organized and consistent. Depending on experience and leadership scope, the selected candidate may be hired at the Store Manager or Assistant Manager level.
Key Responsibilities
· Set, monitor, and achieve personal and store sales goals across daily, weekly, and monthly performance periods.
· Lead from the sales floor, support stylists during appointments, help overcome objections, and step in to close sales when needed.
· Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop new hires and existing team members using consistent company practices.
· Build team capability in consultative selling, product knowledge, client service, follow-up, and closing techniques.
· Evaluate individual and store performance, including sales results, capture and conversion, goal attainment, policy compliance, and service quality.
· Delegate responsibilities, conduct timely follow-up, and hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive, respectful culture.
· Oversee the store's presentation, merchandising, sample condition, inventory care, loss prevention, and adherence to appearance and dress standards.
· Manage day-to-day operations, including point-of-sale accuracy, petty cash, supplies, record keeping, opening and closing needs, and store organization.
· Resolve personnel and customer-service concerns promptly and professionally within established company policies.
· Coordinate bridal shows, local outreach, and other approved activities that support store visibility and sales growth.
· Maintain open communication with company leadership and provide clear updates on performance, staffing, customer issues, and operational needs.
· Recommend practical improvements to employee relations, service, merchandising, marketing, sales, profitability, and operational controls.
· Follow all company policies and procedures and obtain leadership approval before implementing material process changes.
· Perform other reasonable duties requested by company leadership.
Skills & Requirements
· Demonstrated success leading sales and store operations in bridal, luxury, fashion, specialty retail, or another high-touch environment.
· Strong personal selling and closing ability, with the confidence to coach others and lead by example.
· Experience setting goals, reviewing performance, training employees, and creating accountability across a customer-facing team.
· Exceptional judgment, communication, organization, problem solving, and customer-service recovery skills.
· Professional, goal-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working closely with company leadership.
· Bridal-industry experience is preferred; strong product curiosity and enthusiasm for bridal fashion are essential.
· Comfort with point-of-sale systems, basic reporting, inventory practices, cash handling, and routine store administration.
· Availability to work weekends and other high-volume retail periods as required.
· Ability to remain active on the sales floor for extended periods and occasionally assist with merchandise handling and store setup.
