The Position
Quality & Production AssistantJob Summary
KEY FOCUS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily testing of finished product
- Oversight and development / improvement of quality management system per ISO 9001:2015
- Loading dry vans, filling pneumatic tankers
- Generate/complete production and quality data in SAP
- Understand production and quality processes to identify and correct any inefficiency
- Work as the technical expert for all production & quality related activities including training of new employees
- Offer suggestions for continuous process improvements
- Introductory knowledge of basic planning or scheduling practices
- Intermediate computer skills including email, MS Office Suite/Google Suite, online applications including SAP
- Manage customer complaint investigations
- Provide training to personnel
- Maintains calibration of laboratory equipment
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize priorities
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Must be able to work well with others and follow directions
- Ability to write and communicate clearly and effectively on production and quality improvement recommendations
- Must have basic math comprehension and problem solving skills
- Good physical condition to support movement up 2-4 levels of operation (stairs, ladders, etc.)
- Ability to troubleshoot system performance related issues to solve basic problems and find a safe effective solution
- Must be capable of reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, quality procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to five years of production or quality experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Fork truck and man lift operation experience preferred
- Ability to work at heights exceeding 50 feet
- Physical ability to safely operate motorized vehicles (forklift, scissor lift, aerial manlift)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the work day
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift certification a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
● Regularly works in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, and often works near moving mechanical parts, motorized equipment
● Daily contact with high temperature materials and equipment conditions
● Can be exposed to extreme heat/cold depending on the season
