Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Handheld Detector Screening in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener in a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor access points, screen personnel and visitors, and help identify potential security-related concerns. You will maintain a visible presence, support access control procedures, communicate professionally with team members, and provide outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and/or other authorized items in accordance with established access-control and security-related procedures.
• Verify identification, credentials, shipping documentation, and authorization before permitting access to designated areas.
• Respond to incidents, prohibited-item findings, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
