Description
Employee must:
- Be sufficiently adaptable to accept and perform in a timely and effective manner work assignments that are outside the normal day-to-day routine.
- Maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with other City employees and members of the public.
Physical Requirements:
Hybrid work position. Constant sitting, keyboarding, observing computer screen, twisting in seated position; frequent bending, squatting, reaching, lifting boxes weighing 30 pounds or less, standing, walking, writing; occasional reaching above shoulders not to exceed 30 pounds, driving, moving and servicing equipment such as copiers and fax machines, answering telephone. Requires the ability to give and receive oral information; the ability to climb flights of stairs: good reading comprehension; typing; computer literacy using diverse programs; the ability to sit for long periods in an office chair; driving a motor vehicle; the ability to occasionally work nights and weekends.
Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Relationship management: Maintaining relationships with funders and other partners, and serving as a liaison between them and recipients.
- Grant tracking: Producing reports for budget management and strategic planning, and tracking grantee results.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulations and award documents.
- Reporting: Completing documents, forms, or reports required by the grant.
- Record Keeping: Develops and maintains master files, digital filing systems for grants, and paperwork connected to programs funded by grants.
Knowledge of:
- Effective written communication skills, including preparing reports to be interpreted by both the general public and individuals with advanced subject matter experience.
- Effective project management concepts and ability to prioritize work and resources.
Ability to:
- Read, understand, and know how to research information related to grant and other funding opportunities.
- Design and implement data-collection systems for program activities, outputs, and outcomes.
- Interpret data and turn findings into actionable insights for internal team use and funder reporting.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites and related software.
- Learn basic computer software programs for the tracking of data and reports to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial grant reports.
- Effectively work without direct supervision.
- Meet deadlines with minimal supervisor follow-up.
- Maintain the confidentiality of clients and law enforcement records.
- Carry out oral and written orders and directions.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Be fingerprinted for purposes of search of local, state, and national fingerprint files to disclose any criminal record.
- Be a high school graduate or pass the General Education Development Test.
- General proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Thorough understanding of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Previous experience working with grants, record keeping, and/or financial data.
- Previous experience working in a Local, County, or State government office.
