Summary:

​The Specialist, CSR/Clerical Support is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support in the management of patient accounts. This role involves handling billing claims and payment-related tasks, assisting with account reconciliations, responding to patient inquiries, and ensuring accurate record-keeping within the healthcare facility.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of patient accounts by verifying information, mailing claims, and updating account details.

  • Assist in generating patient invoices and billing statements for services rendered.

  • Ensure that all required billing documentation is completed and filed appropriately.

  • Respond to patient phone calls and emails related to account balances, billing inquiries, and payment options.

  • Provide general administrative support to the Accounts Receivables team as needed, including filing, faxing, and data entry.

  • Assist in generating standard reports on accounts receivable, payment collections, and aging accounts.

  • Reconcile daily cash receipts and deposits.

  • Investigate and process credit balance refunds.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous experience in patient accounts, billing, or clerical support in a healthcare setting is preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Basic knowledge of medical billing codes and insurance processes (preferred).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and billing software.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Customer service skills.

Work Experience, Education, and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in medical billing or healthcare administration is a plus.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

This position is performed in the corporate office with standard working business hours, occasional overtime depending on workload. The ability to have daily communication with team members, management, and clients through email, phone calls, video meetings and other collaborative tools. Primarily requires sitting at a desk for extended period. Proper lighting and ergonomics shole be maintained to reduce eye strain.
