Essential Responsibilities:
- Leads and promotes Ledcor’s safety culture on site, ensuring safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded.
- Installs residential and commercial door systems, automatic door operators, and associated mechanical and electrified hardware in accordance with drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes.
- Reviews work orders and installation requests to determine scope, materials, and technical approach; completes door modifications, adjustments, and minor metal door repairs as required.
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex installation issues, including escalated site challenges, and ensures installations meet quality, contract, code, and operational requirements.
- Receives, inventories, organizes, and tracks doors and hardware on site, identifying and reporting missing or damaged materials.
- Coordinates with project teams, subcontractors, and other trades on installation requirements, system interfaces, commissioning, testing, deficiencies, and follow-up work.
- Attends site coordination meetings, communicates progress and constraints, and completes required quality control and installation documentation using project software.
- Provides technical guidance, hands-on coaching, and support to junior technicians and small crews, including onboarding, training, installation planning, scopes of work, and estimating support.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; formal trades training or certification is strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on commercial door installation experience, including mechanical, electrified, and automated door systems and associated hardware.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable building codes, including requirements for fire-rated openings, accessibility, and exit hardware.
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, modifying, and repairing door systems and hardware, including locksets, exit devices, closers, electrified hardware, power transfers, automatic operators, and access-control interface hardware.
- Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and client-service skills, with the ability to work independently, document work clearly, and provide guidance to less experienced technicians; comfortable using Procore, Autodesk, Excel, Outlook, and similar construction software.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract; must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and be willing to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
Working Conditions:
- Site-based, hands-on role requiring regular coordination with project teams, subcontractors, and other trades.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs or more when required.
- Must be clean shaven when required for respirator fit testing or mask use.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
