AlphaBEST Education - Before and After School Group Leader Substitute
Monday - Friday 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Norman Public Schools - various sites
Looking to gain leadership experience while you're in school?
AlphaBEST Education provides extended-day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to inspire and engage students as they discover and learn beyond the school day in a fun, safe environment.
As an AlphaBEST Group Leader Substitute, you'll help shape meaningful before and after-school moments that help kids learn, grow, and thrive. You'll gain valuable experience working with children and collaborating with a team.
We're looking for an early learning professional who:
- Enjoys working with children in a structured, high-energy environment
- Takes child safety seriously and follows procedures closely
- Is flexible, reliable, and ready to jump in wherever needed
In this role, you will:
- Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts)
- Make child safety the top priority at all times
- Keep the space clean and organized
- Help create an environment where kids feel supported and included
- Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff
This role is ideal for students studying:
- Education
- Child Development
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Recreation or Youth Development
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm
- Preferred 1 year of childcare experience with Elementary-aged students.
